Our articles of incorporation
Our purpose is to revitalise regions and businesses through the promotion and support of Chef-in-Residence activities in Japan (Article 3). The following provisions are set out in our articles.
- No distribution of surplus (Article 28).
- On liquidation, remaining assets are donated, following a members’ resolution, to organisations specified in the articles, the national government or local public bodies (Article 30).
- For each director, the director and related persons specified in the articles must not exceed one third of all directors (Article 17, paragraph 3).

Funding our activities
CIRE’s activities are supported by a grant from the United States-Japan Foundation and pro bono work by its operating members. Revenue in our first financial year came mainly from the grant.
